Find the Right LED Lighting for Your Poultry Production

"Which fixture should I choose?" is rarely the right first question. The right question is: what type of production do you have?
Contact usPoultry houses are far from identical. A broiler house has different requirements than a multi-tier layer system, and rearing in the first weeks of life calls for different conditions than a production nearing slaughter. That's why there's no single right answer to which lighting is "the best" — only the answer that fits your specific production.
This guide gives you an overview of the four most common production types, and which solutions typically match them.
01 · Broilers
In a broiler house, the goal is calm, uniform growth, and good feed intake throughout the production period. The lighting program must support a stable flock from placement to slaughter, where lux level, light rhythm, and possibly color technology all play together. FARM-LIGHT™ 4000K is the typical ceiling light for this production type, often combined with BROILIE™ when growth-promoting green light is needed in the first weeks.
02 · Rearing
The first weeks of rearing set the standard for the entire subsequent production process. Stable light control from day one is crucial here, with the option to gradually adjust light level and possibly color composition as the birds develop. BROILIE™ is developed specifically for this phase, where green color technology can support calm and appetite during a period when the flock is particularly vulnerable.
03 · Layers
For layers, it's about supporting stable egg-laying and good behavior around the nests. Dimmable light, correct placement, and possibly color technology can all play a role. FARM-LIGHT™ 3000K provides the basic warm-white ceiling light, while BIRDIE™ can be added in multi-tier systems to control behavior via red and blue light.
04 · Multi-tier systems
Multi-tier systems are the most complex production type to light, because the light must work on several levels at once — nests, walkways, and floor. Here, color technology is often what makes the real difference: red light on the tiers that attracts the hens up toward the nests, and blue light on the floor that reduces floor eggs and makes catching gentler. BIRDIE™ is built specifically for this task.
