As summer approaches, it is a good time to assess whether the house is ready with the right light in the right place. At RN Solutions, we see BRUNSTLYS™ as an active part of the production setup — not just lighting, but a solution that can support heat, strengthen reproduction and reduce energy consumption.

When light level and placement are adapted to the purpose, correct BRUNSTLYS™ can contribute to stronger heat, fewer returns, a higher pregnancy rate and fewer wasted feed days.

BRUNSTLYS™ is not just about more light. It is about the right light, correctly placed.

It is not just about light

In the service and control area, RN Solutions typically recommends 200–400 lux. But lux alone is not enough. If the light is not placed correctly, you will not achieve the desired effect.

It is precisely the interaction between light level and placement that makes BRUNSTLYS™ effective in practice. That is why it is relevant now, as summer is approaching and the focus naturally turns to optimising the house setup.

BRUNSTLYS™ is light with a clear production purpose

At RN Solutions, we see BRUNSTLYS™ as an active part of the total production setup. It is not about ordinary lighting, but about using the right light strategically in the service and control area to support reproduction.

This also makes BRUNSTLYS™ interesting from an economic perspective. It is not only an energy upgrade, but a solution that can help increase productivity in the house.

1

Stronger heat

Correctly placed light can help support clearer and more stable heat.

2

Fewer returns

When reproduction is supported, it can contribute to fewer returns and fewer lost production days.

3

Higher value

BRUNSTLYS™ combines function, operation and measurable value in one solution.

When the light is well planned and placed correctly, you do not just get more light — you get better light.Correctly placed BRUNSTLYS™ creates more value than simply adding more light.

Placement is just as important as light level

One of the most important points when working with BRUNSTLYS™ is that a high light level alone is not enough. If the light is not placed correctly, you will not get the desired effect.

The right solution is therefore not only about the choice of luminaire, but also about how the light is integrated into the house setup. When light and placement work together, lighting becomes an active part of production rather than a passive installation.

1

Correct light level

The lux level must match the production purpose and be measured where the effect is needed.

2

Correct placement

The light must be placed strategically in the service and control area.

3

Active part of production

When lighting is integrated correctly, it becomes a production tool.

2.75 yearssimple payback time

BRUNSTLYS™ and energy consumption go hand in hand

Although BRUNSTLYS™ is first and foremost about productivity, energy consumption is still an important part of the calculation.

In a specific case from a pig house, 200 existing luminaires with 58 W fluorescent tubes were replaced 1:1 with Farm-Light LED 36 W with Plug'N Play. With an operating time of 14 hours per day, 365 days a year, annual energy consumption was reduced from 74,095 kWh to 36,792 kWh.

This resulted in annual energy savings of 37,303 kWh, annual cost savings of DKK 37,303, a reduction of 20,405 kg CO₂ and a simple payback time of 2.75 years.

When working with the right BRUNSTLYS™ correctly placed, the benefit can be seen both in daily operation and in the overall economy.Lower energy consumption and a better production setup can go hand in hand.

Why it makes sense to act now

When electricity prices rise, the same kWh saving becomes more valuable. This makes well-planned LED solutions even more interesting.

At the same time, summer is an ideal time to assess whether the house has the right light level, correct placement and the right solution to support production.

1

Do you have the right light level?

Check whether the service and control area actually has the desired light level.

2

Is the light placed correctly?

Assess whether the light hits the areas where it should make a difference.

3

Are you still using older light sources?

Older light sources may use unnecessary energy without providing the desired effect.
